Proper lighting is crucial for swimming pool visibility, especially in professional competitions requiring a lux level of 800-1200 lux. Indoor halls prioritize lamp inspection, avoiding placement above water, except with special channels. Venues without TV broadcast needs scatter lamps under ceilings or on walls, while those with broadcast requirements use light strips along pool banks. Careful lamp placement under diving platforms and springboards eliminates shadows and provides key lighting for warm-up pools. In professional competitions, avoid placing lamps above the diving pool to prevent light interference and reflections.

Precautions for Natatorium Lighting

  • A Glare Control

    Controlling glare in swimming pool lighting is crucial due to water's unique optical properties. Manage reflected glare by limiting the projection angle of the lamps. For sports swimming pools, keep the projection angle under 60°, and for regular swimming pools, under 55° (preferably 50°). Larger projection angles result in more reflected light on the water surface. In diving areas, lights must avoid causing discomfort within 2 meters from the diving platform and 5 meters on the springboard to the water surface. Strictly control glare for TV broadcasts, using lighting fixtures with over 500W LED lamps.

  •  B Uniformity of Light

    Illuminance uniformity, the ratio of minimum to average illuminance on a surface, is crucial for visual comfort. Higher uniformity enhances illumination quality, especially important for professional tennis matches held in swimming pools.
