The International Tennis Federation and the National Sports Commission have meticulously established guidelines for tennis court specifications that leave no room for compromise. These regulations dictate that a standard tennis court must stretch no less than 36.6 meters in length and span no less than 18.3 meters in width, ensuring an equitable playing field for all competitors. In the case of multiple courts constructed in parallel, a stringent minimum requirement of 4 meters between the sidelines of adjacent venues is enforced to maintain proper spacing and prevent any interference. When it comes to indoor tennis courts, precision is paramount, with stipulations that the vertical clearance above the baseline should be a minimum of 6.40 meters and the vertical clearance above the indoor roof must not dip below 11.5 meters. These meticulous standards exemplify the commitment of the tennis governing bodies to uphold the integrity and fairness of the sport at every level of play.

The outdoor tennis court lighting system is generally set according to the following requirements:
If the club wants to hold a professional tennis match,it not only requires playing field have good lighting, also requires sufficient brightness in the space above the venue at a certain height. Therefore, the height of a single outdoor tennis court light pole in the club (official competition) should ensure that the installation of the lowest light fixture is at least 12m away from the ground (two side-by-side venues are 15m,and three side-by-side venues are 18m).
Tennis usually moves at high speed in a short distance,it is necessary to judge the running direction of the ball in a short time,so tennis requires high visual and light requirements.
For indoor tennis court Led lighting layout, not arrange lamps above the competition area.If there are court lighting lamps above the competition area, the lights will bring glare to the players. Therefore,if conditions permit, indoor tennis courts can generally arrange tennis court lights at more suitable positions on both sides of the court, installation height of the lamps should not be lower than 9 meters. The indoor tennis court entertainment is 200-300lux request, training mode request 300-500lux,competition need 500-750-1000lux,and 30lux-100lux in audience seats.
Choosing the right lighting solution for tennis courts is crucial for creating an environment that caters to various needs. Three distinct options offer tailored solutions:
Consider the outdoor tennis court as an example, equipped with 16 RAYBORN 200W LED Floodlights. The light poles, standing at a height of 7 meters, are strategically arranged in sets of 8. This configuration results in an average illumination of approximately 400 lux, satisfying the requirements for entertainment, training, and amateur competitions.
In the design stage of the sports building light, the requirements of the stadium lighting design scheme should be considered at the same time,to avoid the preparation of the stadium lighting after the main structure of the stadium is completed, resulting in a very passive stadium light design scheme.
Uniformity of illuminance refers to the ratio of the minimum illuminance to the average illuminance on a surface. The more uniform the light distribution,he better the illumination and the more comfortable the visual experience; If the tennis court is used to hold professional/professional tennis matches, then uniformity of illumination requirements are very high.
CRI is an important method to evaluate the color rendering of light sources. It is also a very important aspect to evaluate the quality of led lighting.Generally speaking, the higher the color rendering index, the better the color rendering of the light source and the stronger the ability to restore the color of the object, the more realistic the picture will be when shooting. This will give viewers in front of the TV a good viewing experience, especially when the TV is broadcast in high-definition
Generally, tennis courts need 5000-6000K color temperature, which is closer to natural light. For some tennis clubs, they may need 3000-3500K warm white light.
LED tennis court lights offer high efficiency, low energy consumption, and environmental friendliness. Traditional HID lamps are gradually being replaced by LED lights.
DIALUX simulation is essential for professional tennis court lighting design. RAYBORN provides free simulations, helping determine the number of lamps needed and optimal installation positions.
